The Sports Injury Clinic in Fordham recently became one of only a handful of IDD specialist Back Care Clinics in the UK. The technology gives the Clinic the means to help a segment of people with acute and chronic back pain. IDD stands for Intervertabral Differential Dynamics and is a gentle non-invasive treatment for “slipped” and bulging discs as well as other degenerative conditions of the spine and in many cases an alternative to spinal injections and spinal surgery.
Clinical Director, Lee Petrucci said. “We see a lot of patients with spinal disc problems, either in the lower back or neck. Many are in that difficult position where they have tried different forms of hands-on treatment and exercise but still find themselves struggling with their back pain. IDD Therapy helps to relieve pressure on the specific spinal segment causing the problem.”
Since the technology has been available at Fordham, The Sports Injury Clinic has seen customers have life changing results and for Rory Sasse, a young local businessman, his quality of life had deteriorated so badly he could neither work nor help his wife look after their young family and the only way he got through his days was to take heavy doses of pain killers. Rory said: “I’ve met the majority of the team at Fordham and they are nothing but wonderful! I am now well on the way to recovering from what was potentially going to be surgery and a long haul to potential recovery. I won’t lie… “too good to be true” kept springing to mind, but no, this treatment has literally changed my life.”
Through the month of June, The Sports Injury Clinic are offering FREE Back Health checks for everyone across their network of Clinics. Lee Petrucci said: “Back pain seriously affects the quality of so many people’s lives and it is the number one complaint that we see in Clinics, so the aim of our FREE back checks is to raise awareness of the problems back pain can cause, as well as prevention and treatments”.
